Jayne & Steve’s Cecil Peak
Queenstown Elopement

Jayne and Steve’s Queenstown wedding was the perfect example of celebrating love in a way that truly reflects who you are.

They began their day at the luxurious Millbrook Resort, enjoying a slow, relaxed morning together with a few close friends, Central Otago bubbles in hand, and an atmosphere that felt more like a holiday than a wedding countdown.

With hair and makeup beautifully crafted by Kirsty Penetito and Tina Andrews from HairToWed, we boarded a helicopter and headed for The Ledge at Cecil Peak – a short but breathtaking flight over Lake Wakatipu to one of the most awe‑inspiring ceremony spots in Queenstown.

Surrounded by sweeping views of the Remarkables, Queenstown, and Lake Wakatipu far below, they exchanged heartfelt vows in a ceremony led by the wonderful celebrant Ellita Thomas. The afternoon light spread across the clouds, the mountain air was crisp, and every laugh, tear, and stolen glance was captured in a natural storytelling style with a touch of artistic/editorial flair.

After the ceremony, we returned to Millbrook Resort where their friends greeted them with cheers, a champagne pop for the ages, and plenty of hugs. The celebration continued at Cargo Brewery – a relaxed, welcoming venue perfect for sharing canapés, craft beer, and some truly moving speeches. By evening, the dance floor was alive, the music pumping, and the atmosphere electric.

Jayne and Steve’s day was proof that there’s no single “right” way to get married – only your way, surrounded by the people who matter most, in a place that speaks to your heart.
