HELLO, I’m Ricky!

I have a passion for enjoying life and experiencing all the amazing elixirs this world has on tap. I’m mad for adventures; throwing myself out of planes over Lake Wakatipu, surfing in the ice-cold waters of the South Island, hiking deep into the Southern Alps, and of course travelling the world. However, I’m just as excited for the mellow stuff; spending time hiding from monsters with my daughter, movie nights, and feeding my coffee addiction by enjoying a latté with friends.

I LOVE to create photographs and films of weddings, elopements and portraits within the beautiful landscapes of Queenstown, New Zealand.
I’m always honoured and humbled when couples reach out to have me photograph their story. Being a Queenstown wedding photographer is a dream job for me. Getting to explore the mountains and photograph people in love is such an honour that I never take for granted.

I absolutely go out of my way to deliver you breathtaking photos, so whatever moments you want to capture you can rest assured that I will create photographs that you will cherish for the rest of your life.

2006

After studying photography in Christchurch, I made the move down to Queenstown to chase my dream of becoming a skydiving photographer.

BUT, JUST QUICKLY, HERE’S HOW I GOT HERE…

2017

After 10 years of skydiving instructing my wife and I started traveling the world.
While hiking across Spain, I found that I was becoming a bit of a deep thinker. I was more and more interested in art, yoga, and exploring the world, and less interested in jumping out of planes.

2020

While the planet was in chaos I found myself diving deep into the world of photography, I became obsessed with light, composition and telling beautiful stories with my camera!
We also had the miracle of welcoming into the world our full-of-life daughter Luna.

2021

After 18,000 skydives I made the decision to hang up my parachute and go full time into photography! As soon as I made this switch everything fell into place very organically and I began shooting everything from landscapes to weddings and even photographing for a pet food company!

2025

After hundreds of photoshoots I’m more excited than ever to capture stunning images for clients! As well as planning adventure weddings and heli elopements with my wife and our business Long White Cloud Elopements!
